WORKSHOP 1 Effects and techniques

This is the pedalboard plugin that was used on the guitar. The effects I used on the pedalboard were chorus and echo. The chorus effect was used to add more depth to the guitar track on my song. I added the echo pedal for delay to add more depth and make it sound a bit spacious.

This is the Adaptive Limiter plugin. It is a limiter plugin I used on the master track of the song to make it louder while avoiding clipping and distortion.

I have used the compressor to reduce the dynamic signals in the bluebird drums, so the highest and quietest parts are on a similar level.

I used the Phat FX to add a punch to the blazing hot guitar to make it sound more percussive as I wanted to recreate a percussive sound without using an instrument known for percussion.

WORKSHOP 6 Effects, notes and techniques

I used ensemble to add richness and movement to the synth pop strings instrument by adding variation to the pitches which creates a detuned sound quality that I wanted for my track.

I used stereo delay on the synth pop strings because it allows you to control the feedback, delay, and mix parameters between two channels on a stereo track. This allows you to create a delayed sound with feedback, which I wanted.

I used the bitcrusher to emulate the sound of early digital audio devices, creating artificial distortion by dividing the sample rates or to distort signals until you can't recognise them. I used this effect because I wanted the 80s pluck bass to be distorted so that it sounds different from your typical plucked bass which people might find interesting.

I used chromaverb to give depth and space to the entire track, I used a master track to do this, I also used it to make the tracks sound more cohesive together.
